OUR MISSION
In Islam, the primary sources are the Holy Quran and the unquestionably transmitted tradition of Prophet Muhammed ﷺ.
Muslims primarily identify themselves as Muslims, not based on ethnicity, race, color, or tribe, as Islam is viewed as a universal mercy of God.
Arabic is taught as the language of the Holy Qur'an, while English is the language used for communication at the center. Additionally, Urdu or Punjabi are utilized during center activities, Friday services, and other religious functions to cater to the language preferences of the majority.
Emphasis is placed on using the English language to properly educate and engage the youth.
WMIC follows the Sunni school of thought, which is practiced by the majority of members, we believe that the schools of thought (or 'madhab' in Arabic), are a matter of personal preference, not a community policy and all sects are welcomed here to worship according to their own beliefs.
Muslim affairs are to be managed through consultation, discipline, and organization.
Both men and women are equally responsible for contributing efforts, formulating policies, and planning for the WMIC activities. Many women are actively involved in teaching and managing the Sunday school.
WMIC believes that righteousness is ensured through modesty, decency, adherence to the prescribed prohibitions, purity of heart, and clarity of conscience.
While promoting Islamic values and ethics, WMIC upholds the belief in freedom of religion and respects the feelings of all individuals.
WMIC role is to provide reminders rather than enforce or dictate, refraining from passing judgment or categorizing Muslims.
Islam is a complete way of life, and all actions are directed towards the benefit of Islam and Muslims in the USA, with a focus on internal affairs rather than external politics to prevent division and chaos among American Muslims.
We're on a mission to help cater the Muslim community located in Woodland, CA and nearby areas. We wish to be there for all the moments that matter the most from the beginning to the end.
